The Shield & The Republic gathers the voices, images and testimony of Nigeria's Armed Forces and the communities they serve — so that service is remembered and memory is protected.

As the last witnesses to founding events pass on and fragile archives decay, first-hand memory is being lost faster than it is being saved. This project exists to close that gap while it still can.
